Sorry I had a town meeting to get to when I ended my last session. Anyway So I needed to get the body and the lobs I removed to the medical center for more testing. I put the body in a body bag and placed the lobs in containers for transport. Once that was done I and Andy raced to my office at the medical center where I ran every test I could there on the lobs and the body and I discovered that the lobs acted as I suspected they were a new frontal lobe of the brain but they had chemicals that were very unique in the chemical composition I could only speculate why but when I examined the bodies nervous system I discovered that every nerve was kept alive by the infection but they also were coated in the bodies natural pain killers that meant that the creature could not feel pain of any kind.
All the organs were dead and when I cut into the stomach I found the remains of its last meal. I was pocking through I when I found what looked like a ring still attached to the owners severed finger I nearly lost my lunch as I roared to Andy to get into the room and demanded he tell me what the hell this was. Andy said he thought I knew about how the infected were attacking other people. I was starting to see how dangerous these things were they felt no pain and eat people this was bad. I went back to the stomach when I discovered that a purple slime had coated the interior of the stomach. I took a sample and discovered that the slime was infected stomach tissue and it was disgusting the food into proteins. I took samples of mucus from the brain lobs and I took samples of the stomach content and stomach tissue. I then moved on to the lungs and discovered that the bronco tubes were completely changed. They were at least twice as big as usual and when I cut into one it was full of viral gel. When I examined the gel under a microscope I discovered the gel was pure viral cells they were stem cell versions of the infected cells. I was amazed by how completely the body functions were altered. I removed the bronco tubes and empted them of the gel. I took everything with me, had Andy help me put the body in the morgue and we raced to a colleague of mine who was retired and lived in town. When we got there I showed him everything and he came to the same conclusions I did but then added a haunting note to the true power these things had he showed me the lack of bacteria on the body. I never thought to check I assumed decay was still above this virus but when we took a sample of virus and placed in a slide of bacteria that is common in the decaying process and the virus quickly took it over and devoured the bacteria. That’s when we saw that besides the digestion of the eaten meat the virus had a second option for energy. Andy saw this and came to speculate that the virus made the zombies immune to rot but Doc quickly commented the fact that no virus has total infectivity something is always immune evolution’s safeguard. We got to tell the mayor commented Andy. We agreed so we took all the evidence and Doc called up the mayor’s house and told her to come to the morgue quickly.
